Hi

I am disappointed in this router all I could get out of it were 17 dbm. I been through Internet looking for firmware, tried dd-wrt which is giving me these 17 in status and barely penetrates 3 walls total 20 meters i get -103 dbs at -117 noise with speed like 1 Mb at that distance.

Its a v2 hardware modification TL-WR740N.

Can OpenWrt get more then 20dbm out of it ? I prefer 24 25 for sharing global network with my neighbor ? I'm ready for volt-mod if possible.

Thank you in advance

People normally say that a good antenna is way more beneficial than increasing the output power. You should consider using some 12 or 14 dbi antenna on both ends or even parabolic dishes). Probably far easier than soldering anything inside the router.
