If yes can someone point me to a useful howto link?
Thanks in advance

Hi
will someone post cfe /wholeflash jtag dump of wag160n version1 annex A device please?
thanks in advance
hello,
same here, flash or some kind of howto would be nice
thanks and regards.
up
brcm63xx seems to be supported since backfire.
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wag160n
Is there a method to do the operation without jtag cable?
And what is the correct image to choose
I've been waiting for this for some time. However I've tried various images via the web interface and none of them are accepted. What is the correct image for the WAG160N (my version is the Annex A).
And there is this on the hardware page:
"Hints
Before flashing OpenWrt make sure to backup "ath_data" (/dev/mtdblock4). It's calibration data for wireless device. You have to include this data into OpenWrt, and modify ath9k driver to read it durning device initialisation."
How on earth is this to be done? I have installed a firmware to give me telnet access and used the webserver to download all the /dev/mtdblockX contents, but I'm now stuck.
Here are some pertinent command outputs:

bump
Seems like no-one cares about this router due to its bad reputation with the stock firmware.
I am stuck at the same point..
Before flashing OpenWrt make sure to backup "ath_data" (/dev/mtdblock4). It's calibration data for wireless device. You have to include this data into OpenWrt, and modify ath9k driver to read it durning device initialisation."
Anyone able to assist?
i too have the same problem
looks like maybe it isn't supported as of 10.03 after all
on the wiki page the user managed to make it working by the looks of it
thanks. does it also work with the dsl modem?
> thanks. does it also work with the dsl modem?
No. It does not - dsl drivers are missing :-(
> thanks. does it also work with the dsl modem?
No. It does not - dsl drivers are missing :-(
Hi Virus,
one question... dsl drivers missing means that wag160n only functions as access point or bridge? So it can't be used as standalone modem/router like original firmware?
Thanks...
Virus,
Can you please re-upload the firmware file for me? The rapidshare limit has expired.
Many thanks
Alex
Here you are, alexcrow :-)
Thx for reup. Is there a way to flash it without jtag?
Thats my issue with ur .bin:
Upgrade file is not the correct type or version for this device.
Upgrade failed.
Please select the correct file and try again.

Will appreciate an answer to this with an attachment of the /etc/config/network and /etc/config/wireless files to show how it's configured as an AP or bridge (preference).
hi virus
is it possible to get a dump of wholefalsh /cfe from wag160n?.Need em to debrick mine.
thanks
I only have a serial console on mine, I don't think I can do it from that.
The firmware on here still gives me a 'Kernel panic - not syncing: unable to detect bcm963xx board' error.
Are there any settings in cfe that need changing first?

Okay that's weird, I just erased and re-installed the image and it appears to have worked.
Another odd thing, is that the rootfs is so small that I can't put openvpn on it, I know I've managed to stuff it into a 4MB flash before.
And the only image I can get to install is openwrt-96358GW-squashfs-bc310-cfe.bin , which I have no idea where I got it from.
