Topic: [CLOSED] WRT3200ACM Rango - 5GHz WiFi not working

The content of this topic has been archived on 3 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Is there a known problem wrt the Linksys WRT3200ACM running Rango image, where clients cannot connect to 5GHz bands?

The web gui shows the radio devices enabled, active and broadcasting. Yet none of my clients can see them.

I have the "ac"  interface set to:
160MHZ
WPA2-PSK
Force CCMP (AES), but I also tried AUTO
Broadcast SSID ticked
SSID = "AC160"

I have the "bgnac" interface set to:
80MHz
WPA2-PSK
Foce CCMP (AES) , but I also tried AUTO
Broadcast SSID ticked
SSID = "AC80"

Can't be much newer than that!?

And that David thread, there is a whole load of problems being reported so I wouldnt want to try that on mine, best let that settle.

So , ideas??

That's OpenWrt's snapshot, compiled yesterday; but that does not mean that the driver has been updated (in fact, it does not seem to have been updated since 31 Dec 2017).

your link above doesnt work .... https://forum.lede-project.org/t/pre-co … ses/3262

I am a bit confused. So I take the latest build, but the latest build doesnt include the latest drivers, which are available ?

Mmmmm

So where would I go, for firmware with latest drivers ? Do I have to use LEDE? Fine, but which one?

The latest OpenWrt version is called LEDE 17.01.4

I installed the latest beta from 7th Feb

Anyway, Ive gone to DD-WRT and everything works perfectly so sticking with that

Thanks anyway
