Hoping one of the devs will pick this post up!
I have some chinese designed hardware which has a BCM5358 CPU and 16Mb of flash (MXL25L128).
The device ships with CFE version (TBC) and I have been assured that it supports OpenWRT.
I had someone build OpenWRT firmware (TRX) for me, however when I try to upload to the router using the CFE flash commands it fails and hangs (becomes unresponsive).
The chap then said use a different CFE version (taken from a TPLINK) which managed to run CFE.
My question would be, is there some restriction in CFE which would prevent it from loading OpenWRT? I have read about the whole magic number and TRX CRC checks etc however since the whole of the CFE code the manufacturer used, is available wouldn't it be feasible to edit that CFE code, recompile so it can support OpenWRT?
