Topic: Linksys WRT1200AC requires a reboot ~3 days to fix 2.4 GHz WiFi

Anyone experiencing the same issue of having to reboot a Linksys WRT1200AC every ~3 days to fix 2.4 GHz WiFi/radio

Users can see the two SSID's on the 2.4GHz radio but are unable to connect at all.

The 5GHz radio/wifi does not experience this issue.

Router: Linksys WRT1200AC
Firmware: OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 / LuCI 15.05-142-gb6330a1 Release (git-15.363.78009-956be55)

That is a known problem when you use an older mwlwifi module. The problem should be gone, if you use version 10.3.0.17-20160324 (or newer).

For my original (resolved) bug report, see https://github.com/kaloz/mwlwifi/issues/63.

Thank you. Will see how stable the new driver is.

Current
10.3.0.17-20160531-1
10.3.0.17-20160531-1

Previous
10.3.0.16-20160105
10.3.0.16-20160105

Thank you sera and MagicSimon.

Router has been up for 11 days and the 2.4 GHz has been working great and one of the housemates has been experiencing good performance from his PS4.

It would have been nice if there had been a link to the updated radio drivers with the FW installation instructions for anyone installing onto this router for the first time.

Kind regards
Craig

you can add a daily or weekly reboot at 3am
0 3 * * * reboot

I've been having the same issue with my router (WRT1200ac) so have upgraded, there is a binary file and instructions on the main router page (part of the 2nd section down - sub-titled "88W8864 mwlwifi") on https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt1x00ac_series

Thanks to who ever made the binary...
