TP-LINK WR841N is budget router with 2 omni 5dBi antennas.
I mod it with one directional 16dBi and an omni 20dBi so it can cover large garden and a swimming pool

20 dBi is quite high for an omni antenna (passive ones are usually below 10 dBi). Could you provide some more details about your model?

I bought it from Aliexpress, coverage is very good

sure it is...

15+2 is less than 20 which compared to 67 gives you less than 30% positive feedback for that antenna. who knows where the rest of reviews are gone...

Nice build.  Exact numbers dont really matter so long as it works well for you.

yeah, I donot care much about the specs seller put, but this can cover far more better than original WR841N
Can cover the swimming pool and the garden

And what about the directional antenna ? Is it home brewed ? I wnat to build/buy one, and sorry I can't watch the youtube video !

Quite bad that you have to change the router's case too for this. I used to have a wr841n too, but the signal was horrible and I bought a 1043nd v3 and the signal is a lot better and the coverage is too.

Hi, the box is actually out door directional antenna, so you can put it out side and it can repeat signal miles away

Just asking, could those antennas be used on a router with detachable antennas? I have a 1043nd and it's antennas are fully detachable, but are they upgradable?

Yes, the long one you can exchange with original TP-LINK, I did with my 1043nd V2 and my signal is better.
The long range, you can also use finished one (mine is DIY kits)

The discussion might have continued from here.
