Topic: Linksys EA4500 not supported anymore?

The content of this topic has been archived on 29 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi all,

the next days I wanted to start to order a new router (Linksys EA4500) and install OpenWrt. Now I wanted to check if it's already possible to use any version of the EA4500, but on the table of hardware wiki page, the router is not mentioned anymore at all.

Is it not supported anymore? I even cannot find the page anymore, that shows all details to the supported routers, e.g. how many gigabit ports it has, the cpu speed,... Was this removed? Perhaps there are now more recent routers supported.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dirk

Following todays "502 Bad gateway" issue, the database needed to be rebuild. This is still in progress.
Wait, and the EA4500 will come back.

Thanks a lot for your responses. That are good news.

Kind Regards,

Dirk

From Table of Hardware, entry number 378:

378    Linksys    EA4500    v1    15.05    ea4500

The EA4500 v1 runs on the Marvell F6W01A1E @ 1.2 GHz. Has a Cisco logo on the chasis. (Hardware is supposed to be like the E4200 v2)
The EA4500 v3 runs on the QCA9558 @ 720 MHz. Has a Linksys logo on the chasis.

FYI.

ea4500 v3 is not yet supported but promising.  also the v3 does not have dual firmware partitions like the ea4500 v1 or e4200 v2.

It does have a dual firmware partition.

I have the LinkSys logo on it, although on the back it does not mention that is V3.
I've mistakenly flashed CC 15.05 of V1 on it, bricked it, did a 30/30/30 and firmware got reverted.
