I received a complete build-root (src; r45826) from ZBT. And I can compile working image from it.
Only problem so far: sysupgrade does not work.

sysupgrade is a script which uses platform.sh to check the "magic" for update
check the source the magic is defined for your image profile etc
Spocibo, I had a look already.
The problem is following:
Excerpt from .config:
...
CONFIG_TARGET_ramips=y
CONFIG_TARGET_ramips_mt7620=y
CONFIG_TARGET_ramips_mt7620_Default=y
CONFIG_HAS_SUBTARGETS=y
CONFIG_TARGET_BOARD="ramips"
CONFIG_TARGET_ARCH_PACKAGES="ramips_24kec"
This generates a lot of images, and this one (lokks like a generic one) works:
openwrt-ramips-mt7620-mt7620a_mt7610e-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
Later on:
root@:/tmp#sysupgrade -v -T openwrt-ramips-mt7620-mt7620a_mt7610e-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
Sysupgrade is not yet supported on generic.
Image check 'platform_check_image' failed.
So the board I have is not listed in platform.sh, as far as I understand.
May be,
sysupgrade -v -F openwrt-ramips-mt7620-mt7620a_mt7610e-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
MIGHT work, but I am hesitating a bit. Any idea, what/where to look for, to be more confident, that "-F" will not brick my device ?
Hi! I have a ZBT WE1026 (http://www.zbtlink.com/list.aspx?cp_id=493), it probably have same board, as a WE826.
I received it from aliexpress without a working firmware. The seller promised to send a actual firmware, but it didn't happen.
Could You share image with me? And build-root, but I don't have enough knowledge to compile firmware.

it should not brick as an image writing routine is the same for all mt7620 boards, but anyway be sure you have a TTL cable to restore)

ZBT WE1026 it probably have same board, as a WE826.
Yes, looks very similar. Difference in number of LANs, though.
OK, I can give you my image. You are able to flash via web interface ?
Works with my board: Remove power plug from router, use thin pin to press hidden reset switch, apply power again, and keep switch pressed for about 10 sec. Then use cable between WAN port of router and PC. On PC set LAN IP to 192.168.1.10, and in browser go to
192.168.1.1
Chinese page, but rather obvious, how to use. You can also connect your PC in parallel to google translator, and enable translation of Chinese.
Image is about 7MB. You might email me your email adrs to my (anti-spam) email

Hi, augustus!
Can you check is there ZBT-WG2626 in Target Profile menu in your build-root? I mean can you compile firmware for another ZBT device, not only for WE-826?
Can you check is there ZBT-WG2626 in Target Profile menu in your build-root?
There is not. Only "Default" profile, and I do not know, if this fits.
You have a ZBT-WG2626 ?
Yes, I have got wg2626, I downloaded MTK's SDK but did not manage to compile firmware for my device, because there were no sources of kernel. So I compiled Chaos Calmer.
Any news/tests abt WE 826 CC/DD builds ?
2.5 / 5 GHz ?
The discussion might have continued from here.
