Topic: What's the difference between generic and smp?

I have a HG655b router and there are 2 firmwares. One generic and one smp.

What's the difference between them?

SMP (simetric multiprocessing) is supposed to take the advantage of using two cores when present and supported by the Linux kernel.

HG556b, has two CPU cores, therefore is recommendable to use the SMP firmware, unless you experience problems when using two cores.
