Topic: Wireless Repeater SSID Issue

The content of this topic has been archived on 12 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi,

I set up a wireless repeater on an OpenWRT travel router I have, but whenever the repeater goes out of range or if I take it out of my house it stops broadcasting the SSID so I cannot login to change router settings or connect to a new network.

Is there a way to make the SSID always broadcast even when it is not in range of the main router?

Thanks smile

It's a known issue.  Basically, as you have one radio, when the WWAN can not connect the WLAN goes down.

I use 2 radio's (Search edimax 7811) but there are some other options in these posts.  I have not tried any of them.
