Hi all,

I recently bought a unifi outdoor AP AC and i'm having trouble upgrading it to openwrt firmware. I downloaded the image openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-unifi-outdoor-squashfs-factory.bin upload it to the /tmp directory changed the file permissions in winscp which i uploaded the image sshed into the AP with an ubuntu laptop and issued fwupdate.real -m openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-unifi-outdoor-squashfs-factory.bin -d command as instructed but keep getting the error below:

BZ.v3.2.10# fwupdate.real -m openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-unifi-outdoor-squashfs-
factory.bin -d

Couldn't open image file: openwrt-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-unifi-outdoor-squashfs-factory.bin!

Could anyone help with with how to properly do this?

Cheers

Did you cd to the tmp directory before issuing the fwupdate command?  Or put /tmp/ before the file name so it knows where to find it.

Sorry my bad that was the problem but now fwupdate.real complains about the version of the firmware image, because it is built with prefix "XM" instead of the "BZ"

how do i edit the binary to replace characters 4-6 in the firmware image file or could you walk me through using the image builder and patching the makefile.

Thanks
