you can overcome this by adjusting lines in /etc/opkg.conf

src
instead of
src/gz

that worked for me

This started happening after a did a sysupgrade -v the latest snapshot of chaos_calmer

I moved to chaos_calmer RC1, and opkg update seems to be working again. It's a bit sluggish, but working.

What is the "Signature check passed" about that comes up now?
