Topic: newbie please help wifi not connecting in mr3020 openwrt.

hello everybody

please help me i am newbie to openwrt
i have tplink mr3020 with openwrt Barrier Breaker 14.07 installed with 3.10.49 kernal and alfa awus036nha usb wireless adaptor.
i have installed kmod-ath9k,kmod-ath9k-common,kmod-ath9k-htc,kmod-mac80211.   
i am unable to connect it to any wifi network.
it scan wifi network but not connecting. sometimes light blink in usb card sometimes not.
it is showing like below picture

You are getting spontaneous "USB disconnects" every 3 seconds.  These are only supposed to happen if the device is physically unplugged.  It could be a hardware issue such as lack of DC power.  Try running the device through a powered USB hub.

lol no way that the 3020 can supply a awus036nha with enough juice, you need another way to power that external usb adapter

MR3020 has builtin Wifi. Why are you using external Wifi adapter anyways? (just curious)

That unit has 600 mW transmit power and an external antenna port.  According to reviews on Amazon, if your USB port strictly enforces the USB specification's 500 mA limit, it is unlikely to work.  By far the easiest workaround is to use a cheap USB2 powered hub that comes with a plug-in power supply of at least 1000 mA.  I said cheap hub because you do not want any fancy DC current limiting features in it.

okay i understand that i need usb power hub
but which type of usb cable needed to connect to external power supply and data from mr3020?

Buy something like this:

Plug the hub's input USB cable into the router's USB data port.  Connect the routers USB power port to one of the sockets on the hub with the A to mini-B cable that came with the router.  Connect the high power wifi adapter to one of the other sockets using the cable that came with it.  Connect the hub's power supply to the hub and the wall.  (The router should be able to get power from the hub, you don't need a separate power supply for it.)

You already have the cables you need, you only need to add the hub and its power supply.  This is all plug and play there is no need for custom wiring.

friends now i connected the alfa device through powered hub to router but now new problem arise
alfa card now scanning wifi networks but not connecting to them

without powered hub  it connects and working for some time and then disconnect again connect disconnect(as per your suggestions router not giving much power to alfa card thats why disconnecting frequently)
but now with hub even not connecting to searched wifi networks
