I notice on the marked now is TL-WR740N v5.0 devices.
It work on 5V, old revisions work on 9V.
My search so far show that DDWRT do some progress:

I'm also interested in WR740 V5 routers, hope they get some support soon.
Does anybody know what is new with WR740N v5 ?
Have they changed some chipset? Do they still have same ammount of memory and flash?
It looks like Daniel Petre added support for V5 few days ago:
