Hi ever body
I currently own a TL-WR1043ND v1.8 that I would like to use with openwrt, but the only problem is that the wiki is a little messy, for what I read v1.8 has some wan bug with barrier breaker 14.07, then there is the wifi issues in attitude adjustment 12.09-rc 1.
So I would like to ask current users of v1.8 to please tell me what version should I be downloading to prevent any wan or wifi issues.

Latest is always more "fun" than previous releases. Get the f*ing "Chaos Calmer" or whatever trunk is currently released for lots of "fun".
Try this one it works perfect on both my v1.8, if you don't like the failsafe luci thin go to system/software delete luci-mod-failsafe
