Topic: FIXED: Timeout waiting for PADO Packets

Power Reset seems to sometimes work (if I keep it off for some time).
ISP does not know why I have this problem (they asked for logs today, haven't heard back since)
Might it be hw issue?

Connection Type: PPPoE

With an old Linksys BEFW11S4 v. 4 the connection works flawlessly.

....

worked that is. After a few hours, same problem. "Can't connect to PPPoE Server"

Will try out different Modem and talk to ISP again (who so far have claimed it's not their fault...)

Then I will have tested 3 Routers, 4 Router Firmwares and 2 Modems.

How the hell can this be on my side?

Did:

OpenWrt Reset + Line Reset (form ISP)+ found out Modem has semi-defective power-plug (seems to loosen after a while)

Everything works again.

I don't think is fixed. See: #10095

Same Problem here. sometimes the dialin takes up to 25 minutes after lost connection or modem power cycle.

syslog: http://paste.debian.net/141514/

Modem: Speedport W724V Type C
Router: TP-Link WR1043ND/v1

I did not have a single Timeout error in in days, I do consider it fixed.

ISP also told me they optimized my "profile" (they were not any more specific), but I thought that was empty talk, but maybe it wasn't?

ISP in my case is Congstar, Subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom (I am located in Germany)

I am on Debian Testing (if that might change something, so I got a whole set of newer packages than stable), e.g.:

Gnome 3.14.1
pppd version 2.4.6
Linux debian 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt2-1 (2014-12-08) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I run into this problem, too, if I do not restart my modem. So, no problem when:
- power off router
- power off and repower modem
- starting router after line is established.

The fastest and easiest way to fix this:

Step 1: Login to your routes account
Step 2: Click on WAN in Advanced settings
Step 3: Scroll down to MAC Adress
Step 4: Click on MAC Clone and save

This has not been enough for my router Asus RT-AC87U. I also needed:

Enable_PPP_Echo_Detect = NO
Enable_Internet_Detect = NO

The discussion might have continued from here.
