How can I enable remote web Luci access over the internet (WAN)? Port forwarding 80 and 443 is not enough since it does not solve my problem.

This is what i get:

"Forbidden! Rejected request from RFC1918 IP to public server address"

Try and go to:
Network -> Firewall -> Trafic Rules: Open ports on router:

Give the rule a name and say port 80 under port. It should open the port on the firewall, without having to edit uhttpd and so on.

Also check if your modem might be blocking the request somehow. You can fix that by setting up DMZ on your modem, so it points to your OpenWRT's IP (remember to use a static IP or tell DHCP on your modem to give the same IP every time to the MAC address of the OpenWRT Router)

Opened port 80 and forwarded it to my router IP. Still no go. Same result.

Strange. Do you know if it's OpenWRT or your modem blocking the port now?
I would still turn on DMZ on your modem and point it to the router.

110% it is OpenWRT who is blocking since on Gargoyle i could use it.

The discussion might have continued from here.
