I'm a new user interested to try to use openwrt on tl-wa855re.

I am a second one with this extender: TL-WA855RE 1.0.

Anybody tried to flash this one? I need an access point mode, it has it but seems it does not have NAT inside. So I hope OpenWrt can help.

Dear all,

I want try that flash openwrt on my TP-Link TL-WA850RE V2 EU by serial.

I will use the usb to uart adapter CP2102.

Im thinking about install this version : openwrt-15.05.1-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr841n-v10-squashfs-factory.bin

Is it possible ?

What kind of program is better use to flash this firmware into the WA850RE V2 ?

Thank you.

Hi all. My WA860RE with openwrt-15.05.1 can't switch off normally. Command 'poweroff' disconnects network, but power led stays on and bottons doesn't work at all. Only onplug from power socket helps after that. Command 'reboot' works fine. What should I do?

Hello.

I have install on the  TP-Link TL-WA850RE V2 EU the lede-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa850re-v2-squashfs-factory.bin ,
direct from the factory firmware uprgrade section.

Now i can comunicate with the device by putty on address 192.168.1.1 with LAN or WIFI

If i connect the LAN/WAN port to my router and then connect for example one notebook by wifi , the notebook will get by dhcp the address of my router (inculded gateway, not 192.168.1.1)

Im tryng to read about the network configuration to send commands by putty, but i still many confuse.

Also i have try to install luci, but i could not make online the TL-WA850RE V2 using the default gateway 192.168.1.1
cause the wrong network configuration.. i think.

I would be happy to continue the tests with yours help.

Thank you

Hi @all,

i was nearly getting mad with the GPL-code from TP-Link for WA860RE v2 (EU) until it flashed over webinterface.

Compile after using lubuntu 32Bit environment.

Changed linux/kernels/mips-linux-2.6.31/kernel/timeconst.pl:
#       if (!defined(@val)) {
        if (!(@val)) {
                @val = compute_values($hz);
        }
and changed  images/860rev2/FlashMaker/860rev2_eu/supportlist.bin into:

So i have openwrt up and running on a wa750re i want to upgrade to a new version but i can't connect to lan and enable internet through the device and ssh into it. Is there a setting I can change to allow this. I was thinking  proto in the etc/config/network from static to dhcp. Not sure it will work the way I want to. I want to be able to see an IP address for the device on my network. I can easily ssh to with through both ethnet cable and wifi when disconnected from my lan. I am using it as an ap. It does not have luci installed. The main reason i want to update/upgrade is to get luci.

Hi, I've problem I opened my TL-WA750RE and found where pins have to be soldered but which one is the TX or RX (I'found gnd and vcc with the chip next to it)

Hello!
I have tp link WA850RE hardware version 4.

It have
CPU: MT7628nn
RAM: winbond w9725g6kb-25 (32mb)

I tried install
/chaos_calmer/15.05/ramips/mt7628/openwrt-15.05-ramips-mt7628-mt7628-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
but i always saw error 'invalid checksum'

Somebody know how solve that problem and istall OpenWRT?
Is it realy to have OpenVPN client on this router?
