Topic: My bad

The content of this topic has been archived on 15 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I have gone and did something stupid and was wondering if anyone can help me out of this jam.

I've patched my WDR-4300 with this custom firmware fit for israeli devices:

https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=43215

Now everything went on fine until I wanted to configure pppoe, and have edited:

/etc/config/network to include some obscure pppoe configuration that I managed to understand.

Now the bad thing is that I've done it on the eth0.1 device and commented out the previous one.

My pppoe setting didn't have the "ifname IP" device so now I'm essentially locked out of the router because it has no IP configuration for that port.

I've tried other ports and the wan port as well as set static ip, also tried doing this:

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe

No luck, can't reset to defaults and can't telnet/ssh nothing.

Any advice ?
just bought this router and it was a waste of money as it is with the custom Israeli firmware and now this... damn wasted money.

Thanks Guys
PS - if this is the wrong topic please tell me which one to  move to, thanks.

The failsafe entrance window is just 1-2 seconds long. So, you have to be very exact when to push the button to enter failsafe.

Have you read this?
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- … lsafe.mode

The failsafe mode might also work only on some of the router's ports. So, if you manage to get the router to the mode, you might test failsafe connectivity from lan ports & also from the wan port?

Thanks for the update man, well I did manage to follow the link you posted and I do get the SYS light on, but no amount of holding the WPS/Reset button turns it into blinking.

I am guessing the sys light in this case is the circular arrows on the router.

EDIT:
Wait I was wrong, it's the "star", checking the article and updating.

Thanks.

Managed to log back in and copy my backup configuration file, configured pppoe and now most is well.

Only left with one problem with start uhttpd, keep getting:

Error: No sockets bound, unable to continue

And I have tried changing the port to other ports such as 8080 or 8888 or any other port - but nothing seems to solve this.

Looked around but wasn't able to figure this out.

Appreciate any help.

The discussion might have continued from here.
