Topic: TP-Link TL-WR741ND/AR7240 Ethernet stops works

Hi!

I've been experiencing this for a while. If i leave a pc with a torrent client connected after a while all my ethernet connected devices will stop working, even DHCP requests are "ignored", but WIFI is still working correctly including the DHCP requests.

My dmesg messages are flooded with these messages:

[155788.010000] eth0: tx timeout
[155788.010000] eth0: link down
[155788.020000] br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered disabled state
[155788.450000] eth0: link up (1000Mbps/Full duplex)
[155788.460000] br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered listening state
[155788.470000] br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered listening state
[155790.470000] br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered learning state
[155792.470000] br-lan: topology change detected, propagating
[155792.470000] br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered forwarding state

My device has the version 2.4 and I'm using Attitude Adjustment (12.09 final). I've tried some daily images and the result is the same.

Can anybody provide me an hint how to solve this? Or ask for more details in order to provide developers assistance to fix this issue.

1000 Mbps???

At least in LUCI you can see this 1000 Mbps device as the CPU, but I don't know if this information is correct or not.

No one with the same router or chipset, that can confirm if have the same problem?
I would like to be sure that was not a router or configuration faulty, before bug report it.

Hi

I'm experiencing same. I have Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N but I think it uses the same Switch. At least this is what it says on a switch page

Switch "eth0" (AR7240/AR9330 built-in switch)

I migrated from DD-wrt to OpenWRT to hope to solve this issue. It seems that didnt help :--(

This happens randomly, sometimes I can download very large files very quickly without the switch failure and sometimes it is constantly failing.

Switch can be restored by logging in using WLAN and issuing ifconfig eth0 down ifconfig eth0 up

I'm running ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT (12.09, r36088)

I can only confirm, that switch of wr741nd is detected as 1000Mbs (dmesg: [   32.780000] eth0: link up (1000Mbps/Full duplex)), but I never noticed problems with switch, just wifi bugs are troublesome. Tested now on barrier breaker r35062. I think I noticed that even with the "latest" BB (compiled about 10 days ago), it still detects as 1000Mbs, but I don't have the wr741 by hand now.

Hi all!
I have the same TP-Link TL-WR741ND (v1.4 AA12.09) router and I have the very same problem with the ethernet ports. It occurs randomly, no logic. When it shows up I have to turn wifi on on my phone and reenable port to the computer via the web-interface of router, no other way to fix that. Sadly, I did not copy the syslog in that moment but as I remember it seems on that contains in first message of that topic.

upd Found that. No  decision.

upd2 It comes up again. Part of syslog: http://pastebin.com/w6e8Zr2K

This still happens with OpenWrt Barrier Breaker r40504, is there anything we could do to help de developers?

I've already reported this ticket #13467 against AA.

If I start a torrent client, after about 10 mins I loose all the wired connections and need to reboot the root, although the wireless seems unaffected.

Get the same problem.
Still have no solution?

Hi,
I'm brazilian, so, sorry about My english...

a had the same problem. I have an Intelbras WRN240, but it is an OEM tp-link wr743nd.
The first version of openwrt a had installed was 12.09 rc1, and a don't had any problem. But when a upgrade to version BB 14.07 the problem starts. I don't know why the wired connection stops.
Later I realize that's occurs when I start torrent client. SO I back to openwrt 12.09, but I used the final released this time. And the problem persist. After that, I tried to install the 12.09 RC1 again. and now the problem stop! big_smile

That's it. And sorry about My english.
