I'm trying to get gpio_pwm running on a 'TL-WR741ND'.

Could somebody tell me, to which folder I should copy the patch and how I can apply the patch, so that the patch is used by the sdk.

What patch? The link you quote is talking about kernel_menuconfig and menuconfig.
These are edited via make.
