Topic: monitor WAN traffic by IP?

The content of this topic has been archived on 25 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Does anyone know how to report on bandwidth usage by IP?  I'm looking to only count the traffic when it is accessing the WAN address.  It sounds like a job for iptables, but I don't know how to go about setting it up.  Can anyone help?

TIA

I have been searching; I've seen the script for openwrt.  While it reports on a per-IP basis, it does not report only traffic destined for the WAN (I don't think).  I'm looking to exclude LAN traffic from the counters.

in bandwidthd, dev  = wan # Device to listen on
is not a option ?
