Re: TP link MR3220. No web interface, no usb storage, no usb mode switch

lordex,
ok, you have less trouble than you can think....
As you have written......it just accesible by SSH........<- this means you HAVE a network connectivity. Even only in local network(LAN).

Please edit your /etc/config/network according to my configuration above, you just have to set following values:
config interface lan
        option ifname   eth0
        option type     bridge
        option proto    static
        option ipaddr   192.168.1.16
        option netmask  255.255.255.0
option gateway  192.168.1.1 #<----- gateway, the only way to connect to the other networks in the Internet
option dns      192.168.1.1 #<----- DNS settings, needed for proper name resolution, used by wget, ipkg, etc.

As you can see, your wifi is not working because it is disabled, by default.
You have to edit /etc/config/wireless according to the example above and set the option disabled to 0, or delete that line.
# REMOVE THIS LINE TO ENABLE WIFI:
        option disabled 0

After the restart, check if the changes are persistent, and if so, everything should work(internet connectivity and wifi interface enabled).

Important notice> THERE IS NOT ANY GUI(web interface) DUE TO THE MEMORY RESTRICTIONS. So you have to work in the shell. But even from the shell you are able to upgrade firmware, etc. Just try to browse through wiki smile

Best regards,

Peter

Re: TP link MR3220. No web interface, no usb storage, no usb mode switch

bro Lordtrex.
I'm use TL-MR3220
solution is:
install winscp for edit file on router, or it can upload packet (file ipk) to router
http://ilmu-musafir.blogspot.com/2010/09/tutorial-penggunaan-winscp.html

1). upload file to router:
- set winscp host: 192.168.1.1 user: root pass: (yourpass), protocol: scp , login
- there are 2 windows. right is openwrt, left is PC
- download file below by your PC
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/packages/
   1    blkid_1.41.12-1_ar71xx.ipk
   2    chat_2.4.4-17_ar71xx.ipk
   3    comgt_0.32-9_ar71xx.ipk
   4    kmod-usb-core_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
   5    kmod-usb-ohci_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
   6    kmod-usb-serial-option_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
   7    kmod-usb-serial-wwan_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
   8    kmod-usb-serial_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
   9    kmod-usb-uhci_2.6.39.6-1_ar71xx.ipk
  10    libblkid_1.41.12-1_ar71xx.ipk
  11    libuuid_1.41.12-1_ar71xx.ipk
  12  usb-modeswithch_1.1.7-1_ar71xx.ipk
  13  usb-modeswitch-data_20110227-1_ar71xx.ipk
- copy file above to "/tmp"

2). install packet above, you login with putty to router
  root@OpenWrt:~# cd /tmp
  root@OpenWrt:/tmp# opkg install *.ipk
  root@OpenWrt:/tmp# reboot

3) plug your usb modem, login again with putty, type "dmesg"
- root@OpenWrt:~# dmesg
find this:

option 1-1:1.3: GSM modem (1-port) converter detected
usb 1-1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB2

ttyUSB2 is defend your USBmodem maybe ttyUSB1, ttyUSB3 or other..

so..... modif file  "/etc/config/network" using winscp like this:

config interface loopback
        option ifname lo
        option proto static
        option ipaddr 127.0.0.1
        option netmask 255.0.0.0

config interface lan
        option ifname eth0
        option type bridge
        option proto static
        option ipaddr 192.168.1.1
        option netmask 255.255.255.0

config interface wan
        option ifname ppp0
        option proto 3g
option device /dev/ttyUSB2 #defend your usb modem
        option apn yourapn
        option service umts
        option username yourusername
        option password yourpassword

4).  your modem still plug, and reboot.
5). check your internet with command "ifconfig"

if conect, you can install web interface with command

opkg update
opkg install luci
/etc/init.d/uhttpd enable
/etc/init.d/uhttpd start

check in your browser http://192.168.1.1

good luck

Re: TP link MR3220. No web interface, no usb storage, no usb mode switch

Thank you so much Mang.... I really apreciate your answer.... It will helpful for me... Now i love this router.... Because i can connect Usb drive to it, a webcam, and even a printer... thats is really wonderfull....

Re: TP link MR3220. No web interface, no usb storage, no usb mode switch

Floydprime, theres a tutorial to make usb drive as rootfs, but Im afraid that dont work on Ar71xx platform, i dont know very well, but it seem like that the bootloader dont support or something like that... maybe im wrong... but that is a  problem for me too.... Space left is really lack of expected.. but theres no other by the moment...

Re: TP link MR3220. No web interface, no usb storage, no usb mode switch

I just picked up one of these routers the other day. I keep trying to get a usb drive to work with it but am having no luck. I cannot get it to show up in /dev at all and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I've installed all the required packages and typed in all the commands as described here http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/usb.storage and nothing I do works.

I've tried 3 different flash storage drives now, nothing shows up. Dmesg shows that the usb appears to be working, no errors.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!
