Hi,

I just installed the last backfire openwrt 10.3.
I still have 74% of free space on the WL-500g Premium (V1) router but when I try to install the hplip module to be able to use my network HP3210 printer I get the error code 255.

How can I solve this to be able to use it in network and then install correctly the hplip program ?
I also make a update of the program list whitout problem. It does it well.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day,

Miguipda ;-)

Please help me.Where to find the error code description or how to solve this ?

Hi,

I used SSH to do an opkg update without any problem.

After what I tried an opkg install hplip that tell me there is only 3772 space available and salne-libs need more than 7000.
But on the web interface it tell there is still 74 % free space.Ha ve a look here below :

# opkg install hplip
Installing hplip (3.9.12-1) to root...
Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03/brcm47xx/packages/hplip_3.9.12-1_brcm47xx.ipk.
Installing sane-libs (1.0.20-2) to root...
Collected errors:
* verify_pkg_installable: Only have 3772kb available on filesystem /overlay, pkg sane-libs needs 7319
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package hplip.

A disk free check gives
# df
Filesystem           1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root                 1920      1920         0 100% /rom
tmpfs                    14832      1212     13620   8% /tmp

mini_fo:/overlay          1920      1920         0 100% /

And the temp contains
# ls /tmp
TZ                log               opkg-lists        resolv.conf.auto  usr
dhcp.leases       luci-indexcache   overlay           run

If you have any idea ?!

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day.

Well 7000 blocks > 74% then

Hi,

then with the already used : /dev/root                 1920      1920
it means that with the need of more 7000 blocks for sane and I don't know what more for the hplip it will exceed the rest of blocks even if I try to reduce the already used space. Then why this hplip is still available if it can't be installed on this router (and I presume other routers doesn't have more space) ?

Sincerely thanks

When packages are too big to fit in your router, you can always try to use them from an external storage device (e.g. pen drive).

Dear DkSoul and other readers,

in fact and that's why I tried : https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=26365

but doesn't worked. That's why I asked here to given link if somebody can give me the answer of my problems.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day,

why you wanna print from your asus router anyways?

Hi mrii,

due to the fact my printer :
- is a network printer
- accescible from all the distant connected systems (linux, windows, android, ...) like PC, Laptop, Phone (PDA), ...
- I can print from my office to my home printer,
- my neighboor can also print documents for me on my printer,
- ...

Thx for your help
