Yes, use the acx wireless drivers instead of the acx-mac80211 ones.

No, only WEP. The acx-mac80211 supports WPA, but does not support master mode. See more at https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/2864

do you know why acx-mac80211 does not support master mode? Is it because mac80211 does not support it?
