Topic: OpenWRT on Routerboard 333 ??

The content of this topic has been archived on 24 Apr 2018. Unfortunately there are posts – most likely complete pages – missing.

I'll have some preliminary image soon if everything goes right, then later I'll try to clean it up to be mergable upstream..

Kaloz:that's great news, are you working on rb600 also?

I tried to apply the patch on a kernel..
It compile, but it don't boot on a rb333. May be i wrong something.

May be i can help to develop the system?

skype: ilbets

kaloz, were you successful in generaing images for RB333?
I tried to compile the kernel but after booting from network I don't see any message. Is it just not printing or the kernel is dead ?

Same here, trying to figure out what's wrong..

it may be a good idea to join our efforts and offer more feedback on this project through this thread ... I also have an rb333 waiting for openwrt on my desk for some time now.

the datasheet for the MPC8321VRADDC used on the rb333 is here

The MagicBox uses an AMCC 405 cpu while the RB333 uses a Freescale MPC83xx CPU. They are not the same, so the answer is no. I'mtrying to get the kernel sources from Mikrotik, and when this happens, the RB333 will be supported.

this has happend long time ago: Feb, 01, 2008.  what is the status as of now?  why there is still no code for this platform, even broken one, in the kamikaze trunk? please try to release asap to the community any code you have at hand.  this is an open source project development after all.

The status didn't change, I have had no luck with the RB333 -> nothing to release.

Any news about support for PowerPC? RB600, RB333?

Thank You.

Hy all.

I read this topic and i saw that you are truyng to port on rb333 that has a mpc83xx cpu.
I would like to know if it is possible after porting to the rb33 board the firmware to work on thecus n1200 that has a mpc8347 cpu.
Would the same image work on this device to?
