So the Zyxel NWA90AX-PRO does not have a firmware download available specifically for it on the OpenWRT Table of Hardware (at least not that I can find at this point in time).
However, the NWA50AX-PRO does have OpenWRT firmware files available for it, and the OpenWRT ToH shows these 2 "PRO" models having the same hardware.
The Zyxel support site shows NWA50AX & NWA90AX as being identical hardware, just with more software features unlocked on the 90 model (although only the non-PRO models are listed there...I'm just not sure if it also means the 2 "PRO" models are identical to each other as well, or just the specific non-PRO models):
Assuming the two "PRO" models are also identical hardware to each other, is it safe to assume that any firmware files/instructions for the NWA50AX-PRO should also work for the NWA90AX-PRO?
And if that is the case, is there anyone who has successfully flashed the 90AX-PRO model and have it up & running?
I'm having an issue where my (supposedly) brand new NWA90AX-PRO is apparently already registered to a Zyxel Nebula account (not mine; I have never registered a Nebula acct, and have absolutely no desire to), which completely disables any standalone configuration of the device, preventing me from being able to use my AP. Even after a factory reset via the pinhole reset button, logging into the AP locally does not launch the configuration wizard like Zyxel's user guide says it should, and none of the config options show up in the UI.
I'm trying to get support from Zyxel on how to get it removed from Nebula, but so far they haven't responded to my inquiries. Frankly, I'm getting tired of waiting on them, so I'm highly considering throwing OpenWRT on it just so I can use the freakin' thing...I just want to make sure I'm not doing something that could potentially brick my AP (at least with no more risk of that than firmware flashing inherently adds). I just can't really find much information relating specifically to the NWA90AX-PRO on here, and since their site doesn't specifically say the "PRO" models are the same, I'm a little hesitant.
