ZTE MF269 - Updated installation info and teardown pictures

Hello everyone. Just like in the title, i recently bought this router, and i decided to post some more info about installation procedure of OpenWRT on this router.

  1. So to get inside the router, first pry off the top cover, it comes off with some force:

  1. Then you need to take off the bottom cover. Under two rubber feet there are screws that you need to undo:

  1. After taking off the top cover there are two screws also:

  1. When you pry off the bottom cover, there are 4 screws:

  1. After you take out all screws, the entire board slides out of the case:

  1. On the backside, now you have access to serial holes:

So, as you can see, it’s not that hard to dissassemble this thing. Now, the commit is pretty much complete when it comes to installing OpenWRT, but i need to add a couple of things:

1. I needed to set my network card IP address to 192.168.0.22 in order to send initramfs.bin file thru tftp server.

2. In the commit it says to use 1.8V serial adapter. In my case, i used 3.3V adapter, and nothing bad happened, i didn’t fry anything.

3. Also in my case, when i connected all 3 connectors from uart, router woudn’t boot at all. I needed to connect only TX and RX, and when i powered the router up, i had to quickly connect GND, and press ESC to enter u-boot.

I decided to post this info, so maybe someone can update the info page on OpenWRT wiki about this router. I hope it can be useful to users around here :slightly_smiling_face:
