Hi all, I am looking to use OpenWrt on one of my older routers but have found some hardware limitation going down that route. I discovered the above offering on that well known Chinese suppliers website and was surprised to discover that the OS used, is in fact OpenWrt
My question is, has anyone tried the above and have any issues been discovered such as difficulty in using or upgrading or any observations in using this router with OpenWrt?
There is support for the Mi 4A Gigabit, but it is a complicated install. This manufacturer also is prone to change the internal chips without changing the model number and this means that the one you buy now may not be the same as those supported in the past.
Overall I would not recommend Xiaomi routers for beginners.

Feel free to reach support thread for router model, it comes in 2 versions not distinguishable from unpowered box.
