The reg domain 00 should be the most restrictive one as it's the world reg domain that should comply with all local reg domains.
In terms of output power limitation, the reg domain US should allow 1000 mW (30 db) on 2.4 channel 1 - 11.
So if you wanna test some limits, you should test with other reg domains set.
Also you should compare the outputs of the commands:
iw reg get
iw list
To get the real output power instead of the limitations of the reg domain only.

does wifi ax use wider band and have more restriction?
juppin
October 28, 2020, 11:19pm
125
Compared to ac wifi not. Maximum channel width is also 160 MHz. The higher throughput comes from better modulations and MU-MIMO.

so 2.4 max is still 40mhz

Yes, you're right. 2.4 GHz band maxes out by near one gigabit theoretical throughput on ax wifi.

After switching region to US max power increases only within regulatory limits but iw list for 2.4 GHz stays at 20. I assume lower limit applies.

The vendors claim 1200 MBit/s (at 4x4:4) as brutto link data rate for 802.11ax (and 4800 MBit/s for 5 GHz at 8x8:8). The ax3600 comes with 2x2:4 for 2.4 GHz and 4x4:4 for 5 GHz (and the third 802.11ac radio with 1x1).

i really wonder who will implement the 8x8 conf.. considering the fact that laptop most of the times have 2x2 or 3x3 if very very lucky...

Mostly mesh systems and extenders, I guess.
Edit: It's probably also very advantageous for Mu-MIMO, serving multiple 2x2 clients at the same time.

Would be very interesting to test a conf with 2 ax3600 setup in mesh mode and check the bandwidth across them...

Noticed that IW output says that 160 and 80+80 are supported, but they aren't in the list of supported radar detect widths, so the interface may not come up properly in those configs...
