This issue can be reproduced 100% of the time on my Dell OptiPlex 7050 SFF powered by an i3-7100T. Running latest BIOS, happened on older BIOS as well. Unless nomodeset is added to the kernel parameters, the kernel hangs during boot and does not make it to the VGA console. I haven't tested extensively with other Linux distros, but the issue is present with OpenWRT 23.05.2, 22.03, and also SystemRescueCD 10.02.
This doesn't bother me hugely as I've already edited my grub.cfg, but this seems like a really quirky issue and makes me wonder if there's something wrong with the integrated graphics on this CPU.
