WRX36 Bricked after USB Flash Failure

Hello wonderful people. Okay, so check it. Im not sure I'm in the right topic. But I've may have ran into a slight problem. My fault, of course. All openwrt related, no bs. Still learning a lot about openwrt, so bare with me here. I've installed 23.05.5 onto my Dynalink, had so much trouble but finally did it, but it was stuck booting into initramfs with my USB flash drive, so without it i wouldnt been able to boot into Openwrt. So I figure, try to flash the latest sysupgrade. But I've made 1 mistake.

I've accidentally set the boot command to no longer use the USB as a fail-safe though SSH Because i thought since everything did loaded, I'd figure I didn't need USB. Now there's nothing but a purple light, and there's no ip address coming from it this time around. I think I done fxcked something up trying to rush and get my internet working again. And I saw a couple forums I'd need some type of 4pin connecter, I have a 5 pin connector and I switched RXD and TXD as directed, I'm aware of its using COM6, but nothing shows up for putty. I don't even know if my cp210x drivers for my Windows 11 are working correctly when I can't even go into my Device Manager on my own computer. As it stands, USB failure on my part, router is stuck on a purple light, it'll still connect to computer with ethernet but no IP address, and it'll still connect to My 5pin connector but Putty isn't showing up,

exactly what am I doing wrong here?

How can we know ?

Figure out all the possible non router related issues 1st.
Currently you have too many sources of error.

If it is set to boot only from USB, it should boot into OpenWrt if you have the correct file the initramfs on the USB.

Test your serial adapter and software by connecting rx and tx wires together (not to the router). You should see copy of what you type in the terminal window. When you break the connection you should not see what you type.

I've accidentally set the boot command to no longer use the USB as a fail-safe though SSH. I thought ive installed sysupgrade. But i guess i didnt. Now its not doing nothing, i had to manually set the network settings from.my computer to 192.168.1 1. Now i gotta buy a 4pin connector to fix this.

Okay I've got the 4pin connector. But the router still shows up blank, upon this windows 11. Do I have to downgrade to windows 10?

Checked if your USB TTL works, as described by @mk24 ?

Tried swapping the Rx and Tx pins ?

Yes it still works all because the lights comes on, and yes I swapped pins.

how does that verify the functionality ?

think:

Because my computer detects the cp210x usb but it doesnt do anything on putty.

Well, you're keep avoiding the question, so I guess we're in for a very long (and pointless) thread...

Im sorry ive just been busy with work. But this is how i know its working...

This problem is mentioned in the wiki, in the serial install tab.

Okay ill check it out
