Hello!
I followed the instructions to manually install img file on Linksys wrt1900acs v2. The Linksys web ui went through the motions and instructed me to wait till the router rebooted as the instructions for manual installation also state. Since the attempted installation the power light has been flashing (3 hours). I cannot connect to the router through a web browser (192.168.1.1), ssh root@192.168.1.1 returns unknown error. I have not yet attempted the other boot partition (switch off three times), is that the next step or are there other troubleshooting procedures to follow first?
Thank you!
Can you show us the link used for your manual install method for reference.
You can try to just power off/on as well as the box connected to it to see if it boots.
Failing that, use the 3 power off/sequence to force the OEM partition to try again. If you haven’t used this method to switch boot partition, you might have better luck cycling the on/off up to 6-8 iterations to get it to take effect.
Thanks.
I assume it won’t boot after rebooting, so have you managed to boot back to Linksys OEM fw using power off cycle?
It can be tricking finding the proper sequence.
- switch off
- switch on - all leds will light up, then go out. The second time the top port leds flash, immediately switch off.
- repeat step 2 six to eight times to make sure the boot fail counter hits at least 3 to switch to alternate partition.
I suggest you use the 23.05.2 factory.img
. Just change the URL from the wiki link from 23.05.0 to 23.05.2.
Yes, I got it back to the LinkSYS and will continue using it that way for now. It is set up as an extender for network upstairs but would like to get it setup with openwrt and use it as primary eventually. Will try the new img file when I next get the time to mess with it later this week. Thank you!
Bonus! The link for the first time installation is accurate. Don't hesitate to ask about anything that you might be unclear about.
