WRT1900AC from 19.07.10 to 21.02

So the upgrade path from 19.07.10 to 21.02 for my WRT1900AC is :

Backup config (for reference).
Restore device to factory image.
Install 21.02
Reconfigure?

I assume there is no less painful upgrade path?

You can short circuit things a bit, many threads with details but the only real show stopper is:
/etc/config/network
