WR841N freezes up, randomly drops WiFi with v18

I have TPLink WR841N and it was running RELATIVELY stably on OpenWRT v15. I installed v18 since it was compatible. But it became more unstable (could be a RAM problem but I have 20% free RAM pretty much all the time). I understand this is an old device.

I currently have a script to restart the router every day at 0530, which has cleared most of the instability.

There's been threads on router locking up when it loses WAN connection, but I don't see the cause in my logs. Most recent WiFi drop happened at 0904 and that's when manual reset had to be made. Thanks for any feedback you can give.

If it's RAM, maybe I need to downgrade my OpenWRT version, or go back to manufacturer's...
