## Flash Firmware - Verify

The flash image was uploaded. Below is the checksum and file size listed, compare them with the original file to ensure data integrity.
Click "Proceed" below to start the flash procedure.

* Checksum

* Configuration files will be kept.

2) OpenWrt support for this device will end after 2019.
19.07 will be the last official build for 4/32 devices. After 19.07, no further OpenWrt images will be built for 4/32 devices. See OpenWrt on 4/32 devices what you can do now.

Even though 21.02.1 firmware is available, it's risky.

Make sure you know how to recover your device.

Why are you telling him about a 4/32 device?

He has 8 MB flash - true it has 32 MB of RAM, though.

See: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd

Did you verify the checksum and if good, proceed?

The device is below spec (32 MB RAM, which matters for NAS uses in particular) and on the slow side over USB, it's not an option as NAS.

Because the firmware is available...which is contradictory to the warning.

(I don't see a 4/32 warning on the hardware page, my bad. I see it on the Techdata page.)

It has 8 MB flash, which is good enough to let it keep building images - but 32 MB RAM are very, very limiting. Yes, 21.02.x will still 'run' on it, but not if you add more everything and the kitchen sink to it (USB/ ksmb), it's very tight - strictly speaking too tight. On top of that the AR9132 SOC is slow (especially the USB bus) and the AR9103 draft-n wireless buggy.

flash is ok :slight_smile:

### Memory

so now lets get back on nas for lan and for out acces

As already mentioned, with 32 MB of memory, it may not work.

But you can try...

TBH...I could Imagine version 20 will freeze browsing to the web GUI.

(I definitely understand: :wink: ).

:warning: You may have issues installing/running the necessary packages!

mean i have to install all these (at least)

You will find detailed walk throughs for [USB-storage](https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/storage/usb-drives) and [Samba](https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/nas/samba) respectively. At a minimum, you will need to install the packages:

* kmod-usb-storage

* block-mount

* samba36-server

* luci-app-samba

i have only 2.6 mb now on new 21.0 os can i install one justkmod-usb-storage
