WPA2-Enterprise and 802.1x for in eduroam network using WR3000

Hi, This router supports wireless WPA2-Enterprise and 802.1x?
Is for use in an eduroam student housing network.
Thanks

Yes it will work. You will need to replace the default wpad package with the full one which supports Enterprise. Also you may need to try different crypto libraries (openssl vs wolfssl vs mbedtls) as some have problems with some enterprise systems.

In order to download and replace packages you'll need a way to temporarily connect the router to the Internet such as the hotspot of a phone.

When connecting to an enterprise network make sure your router is actively verifying the network's certificate. This is for your protection against a common attack involving a fake AP.

Cidy support:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Cudy support team.

No. WR3000 doesn't support this feature.

how does "Cidy support", and their firmware, relate to OpenWRT ?

The stock firmware doesn't support WPA Enterprise, but you can with openwrt and full wpad package.

We use openwrt and dd-wrt for some routers in our university. We used ideas from eduroam with variations for our case. We authenticate also with LDAP
