WLAN drivers / Hardware table explanation

Hi all.
The ToH for WLAN drivers may contain multiple drivers for single device.
For example TP LINK Archer C7 contains both ath9k and ath10k separated by comma.
Would this mean that ath9k is used for the 2.4G radio and ath10k is used for 5G radio OR
both radios can work on ath9k independently (same for ath10k) and it all depends on your choice when building the image ?
Also, the functionality is tested for both drivers and thus that's why both are listed ?
