If this is the DTS its only listing wifi adapters on its pcie interfaces.

Maybe search in that .../ramips/dts folder for similar devices containing a (s)ata/ahci/ASMxxxx reference in their dts?

EDIT: unielec7621 06 has working asm1061 sata?

It seems the ASM1061 can indeed be on pcie2, but may need special reset like on this d-team_pbr-m1 device?

Don't have the knowledge neither for further debugging, but its nice to see that similar devices are commited with working asm1061.

So I guess its fair to say that its a real bug if you used a real OpenWrt image and fill a "github issue/bug report" and point to devices I did to show that it can work?

EDIT: Just to be sure, did the ASM1061 sata controller work in the original OEM firmware?
EDIT2: Found another model mentioning sata power in dtsiCreativeBox v1

I no longer have my WiTi board but I have a vague memory of this issue occuring in late 4.x and 5.x kernels

Which versions do you recommend?

Just try 19.07.0 first than upgrade to 19.07.9 if both fail, go to 18.06.0 than 18.06.9.

If for instance one release succeeds 19.07.9 bisect by going to .5 release than if it fails goto .7 or if succeed go to .3 and see what point release introduced it. With bisecting you don't have to test all the releases, but make educated decision not guess with half or 1 step up/down to the final release.

I just updated my Witi Board to 22.03.2 from (what I think was 19.xx.x) and the SATA ports stopped working ... any advice on what I can do about that?

This broke somewhere in 5.x, I don't have my board anymore and moved on to aarch64. You're pretty much out of luck unfortunately.

You’d have to test modern kernels, that way Sergio can help.

I have the very same module on my MT7623 device. Have you tried explicitly installing the kernel module? Sometimes kernel modules fall off the device configurations.
