Wireless Mode - Legacy vs N - TP-Link TL-WDR3600

Hi,

I just recently installed LEDE on my tl-wdr3600 acting as an AP, and while setting up the 2 wireless radios, I'm not exactly sure what is meant by "Legacy" and "N", and specifically which standard(s) they cover; B, G, N, combination of, etc.?

If possible, I'd like to utilize both G and N; which I remember my 2.4ghz radio being able to do before; NG-Mixed.

Could someone kindly explain and advise?

Thanks,

Setting to n operates at b/g/n. Legacy is b/g only.

okay, thanks!

just started to check out the cli - does this seem about right?

it doesn't look as if any clients are connecting to this AP at all, even though the major settings seems to be the same - WPA2 + AES, same ssid and password, same channels as before, and the "wpa_disable_eapol_key_retries" enabled (tried both enabled and disabled with no change).

wireless.radio0.type='mac80211'
wireless.radio0.channel='11'
wireless.radio0.hwmode='11g'

wireless.radio0.htmode='HT40'
wireless.default_radio0=wifi-iface
wireless.default_radio0.device='radio0'
wireless.default_radio0.mode='ap'
wireless.default_radio0.network='lan'
wireless.default_radio0.ssid='#####'
wireless.default_radio0.encryption='psk2+aes'
wireless.default_radio0.key='#####'
wireless.default_radio0.wpa_disable_eapol_key_retries='1'
wireless.radio1=wifi-device

hmm, rebooted my other two APs at the same time, and now it looks like i have a few connected to my tl-wdr3600 AP.

i guess the clients were just sticky to those other two APs.
