Wireless AP R7800

Hi all
I am soon getting PF Sense for my router so want to use my R7800 as a wireless AP instead.
Would running OpenWRT when in AP only use be as fast as stock Netgear firmware for wifi speeds?

If you get the chance to flash yours and compare the performance, I'd love to see the results. I'm getting better wireless performance with stock/Voxel's mod than with OpenWRT, but I'm not sure if it's normal.

I use pfSense and R7800 + ZyXEL NBG6617.
I use them with OpenWrt because of fast transition.

I have no complains about throughput - they just works, so i haven't measured anything (yet).

thanks will leave it on OpenWrt and connect to my opnsense box and test.
