Hello, good afternoon. Greetings. I have updated the devices mentioned below to the latest version of openwrt for each one, but the 5 GHz wifi interface does not appear. I would like to know if there is a solution for this error. Thank you.
It should be noted that in both devices the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios worked with the TP Link firmware of each one, but after updating them with OpenWrt, only the 2.4 GHZ radio interface appears.
Model TP-Link Archer C7 v1
Architecture Qualcomm Atheros QCA9558 ver 1 rev 0
Target Platform ath79/generic
Firmware Version OpenWrt 23.05.5
Kernel Version 5.15.167
Model TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1
Architecture Atheros AR9132 rev 2
Target Platform ath79/generic
Firmware Version OpenWrt 22.03.7
Kernel Version 5.10.221
To be clear, this device is 802.11n. It doesn't support 802.11ac.
Meanwhile, let's take a look at the config files on your C7:
Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button:
Remember to redact passwords, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:
Nor does it have a 5 GHz capable radio, it's draft-n 2.4-GHz-only.
This one comes with the dreaded qca9880-ar1a wireless chipset, which isn't (hasn't ever, nor ever will be) supported by ath10k (which requires at least qca9880-br4a (such as in the archer c7 >=v2) or better) and OpenWrt, but the wiki page should have informed you about that.
