Wireguard VPN is getting YouTube 429 Errors

Hello. My OpenWrt wi-fi router has a Wireguard VPN Interface that I use as my main network in my home. For some reason, last night YouTube stopped working for any device connected to this network. YT displayed a 429 error.

I've tried a few things:

  1. I have a separate wi-fi signal from the same router that uses a subnet that doesn't go through the Wireguard VPN. YT works fine on this.
  2. Using this wi-fi signal without VPN, I downloaded my VPN's app to my phone and enabled it to see if I would get the same error. I did not and YT works.
  3. I tried changing the VPN server my Wireguard Interface is pointing to. But this didn't work and YT still doesn't work on my VPN wi-fi signal.

I'm not very savvy when it comes to this stuff. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Too many clients of your VPN use same public IP as you, ask your VPN provider. Nothing OpenWRT can help.

Thank you @brada4. I took your advice into consideration and decided I should try a new IPv4 address from my VPN. I had to change my private/public key in my Wireguard interface to do this. But with the new public key, my VPN issued a new IP address which I entered into the interface as well. After restarting my router, everything is back to normal. Thanks!
