WireGuard server on my router that's behind the ISP router

My router already has a WireGuard interface for Proton VPN - most of my interfaces are routed through it.

But now I'd like to have another interface to access my network from my phone. I have rather limited settings on the ISP provided router, so my key question is if it's even possible to do in such configuration.

I think I've got it figured until the point of port forwarding - correct me if I'm wrong but forwarding the port of my OpenWRT router won't change a thing, because the ISP router won't let any such packet through, am I right?

Maybe my notes can be helpful

The "server" setup guide also has a paragraph about running a client and server running on the same router

Start with checking if you have a public IP address on the ISP router

I will read through and see where I land. Thank you for providing it!

Even ISP routers usually provide some kind of port-forwarding settings (cgNAT could be a problem though), as that's -very often- necessary for all kinds of things.
