Wired works, wifi fails

|Model|TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v2|
|Architecture|Qualcomm Atheros QCA9558 ver 1 rev 0|
|Firmware Version|OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.228.31946-f64b152)|
|Kernel Version|4.9.120|

Frequently, in the mornings wifi is not working. Devices can connect , but not access the internet.

Wired connections work as expected. If I reboot the router the wifi connection starts working as expected.

Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem?

When the problem happens try this:

  1. Check OpenWrt logs for errors.
  2. Reboot the router.
  3. Test your WiFi-signal level, use different clients if possible.
  4. Scan for WiFi-stations and change WiFi-channel to an unoccupied one.
  5. Perform 100 pings of router IP, get package loss result, use different clients if possible.

check the logs before rebooting the router also

As far as log errors go, I'm using syslog-ng with the default configuration. Do I need to change the logging level? How can I save the /var/log/messages file for long term logging? Are there other logs I need to look at?
Thanks for your help.
