Wifi Router with OpenWrt as signal extender

Hi I am looking for Wifi router with OpenWrt.

Already have one from my Internet provider , but upstairs I have a weak signal. So I was thinking I can use router upstairs. Solution to get signal upstairs is that I am using Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit, and I was thinking I can connect from eth to router and from this point use wifi.

Am I thinking correct?
Or maybe there is another solution. But what I would like to have is router with openwrt.
Could you pls recommend something up to 100 Euros?

Yes that will work

For the upstairs router if you intend to use it on the same LAN as downstairs configure it as a dumb access point.
