Try upgrading to 22.03.2. Since it isn't working properly now anyway, don't even try to keep settings (take a backup and use that as a reference, if you like).
add the wlan0 to br-lan
I added it to the br-lan and the wireless clients still do not get IP's assigned:
root@OpenWrt:~# cat /etc/config/network
config interface 'loopback'
option device 'lo'
option proto 'static'
option ipaddr '127.0.0.1'
option netmask '255.0.0.0'
config globals 'globals'
config device
option name 'br-lan'
option type 'bridge'
list ports 'eth1'
list ports 'wlan0'
config interface 'lan'
option proto 'static'
option ipaddr '192.168.1.1'
option netmask '255.255.255.0'
option device 'br-lan'
config interface 'wan'
option proto 'dhcp'
option device 'eth0'
root@OpenWrt:~#
Shouldn't the 'br-lan' interface show up in ifconfig? It does not for me:
root@OpenWrt:~# ifconfg
-ash: ifconfg: not found
root@OpenWrt:~# ifconfig

wlan0 should never be included in the bridge. Although it seems a bit strange, the bridge (and network interfaces) should contain only wired physical interfaces (or be empty if none). The wireless file contains the network association.
Yes, usually it should.
Did you try installing 22.03.2 yet? Do not preserve settings when you run the upgrade... then look at the default files and the state of ifconfig after the upgrade.
Thanks for the info on not adding wlan0 to the bridge, I have removed it. I have not had time to complete the upgrade test. I will attempt it this week and let you know how it goes.
The upgrade is pretty quick and easy... don't waste any more time trying to troubleshoot your current configuration... when you spend time on this, start with the upgrade.
Having the same issue I'd be really interested in a solution.
Was there any?
@rockojfonzo - I'd recommend you start a new thread where we can review your configuration and do some troubleshooting.
