Wifi client trouble, Linksys E3000,

Hi all

I'm having trouble with configuring a Linksys E3000 as WiFi-client - and I'm pretty sure that the problem is, that the router cannot retrieve an IP from the central main router. I got a TP-Link router working with the setup, but this Linksys is bugging me.

I tried configuring the wwan with static IP as well, but with equally little luck - so I kinda need a little hint on how to proceed on this one. A kind soul with some visdom?

OK:

This is the device?

There's errata for older firmware versions on the 5ghz radio?

Can we start with your config?
I've decommissioned all my broadcom wireless gear so I can't try to replicate your problem...

"sounds like a b43" issue for me =P But that's not helpful....

i'd go

uci show

in your command line, or "cat" the relevant config files so people can chime in / review your config?

(Make sure to redact sensitive parts of the config?)

I don't think that the wifi on these devices will work properly with any OpenWrt version. IIRC, It is possible to get it to work in 802.11g mode (2.4G), but that's it. That's because of the Broadcom B43 chipset.

I actually got it working - by replacing the b43 driver with brcmsmac. 802.11a does not work, but it's not a problem - as the router will used with a furnace, so high speed is not needed.
