Netgear Rax120v2:
Fresh install of openwrt from factory firmware to 24.10.01
reset router x2 twice
Everything works perfectly except 5hz, sometimes slow to connect , once connected I have no internet then 5ghz wifi disconnects every few minutes or so, Everything is set the same as the 2.4ghz, exept using AX channel 149 and tried 36. Signal seems low 43pct, used to be 68pct on factory firmware.
lan ports work fine and 2.4ghz works fine.
errors in log:
ath11k c000000.wifi: failed to flush transmit queue, data pkts pending 2
No default route present, overriding ra_lifetime to 0!
phy0-ap0: AP-STA-DISCONNECTED bc:6e:e2:fd:6a:fb (my wifi 5ghz)
Radio: Qualcomm Atheros IPQ8074 802.11 ac/ax/n
Setup exactly the same as my other router netgear rx500 which works perfectly
only configuration done was setup wifi with security and password. Tried different channels and also 160hz and 80hz and 40hz
Also sometime the 5ghz doesn't even show up to connect wifi
Any ideas?
Ok, I have it working now. I replaced cal-ahb000000.wifi.bin in //lib/firmware/ath11k/IPQ8074/hw2.0

Good signal and have my speeds back
I have since reverted back to original factory firmware.
When I had finally ironed out the 5ghz radio I figured that was that, Mission accomplished. I've done speed tests, latency went from 2ms to 8ms but they are never consistent and never will be. Its the nature of the beast.
So finally before going to bed I decided to run the orb app from my phone to test out the responsiveness reliability of the connection over time. There was bad packet loss, 10pct or more was being detected. I double checked on speed.cloudflare..com . That was consistantly showing 10-25pct packet loss. I've tried other ath11k firmwares........there is a serious issue with the firmware. I was thinking maybe my 5ghz was going out so I tftp'd the current rax120v2 firmware from netgear. No more packet loss, everything just ran smooth. Qualcomm Atheros IPQ8074 for openwrt is just garbage. Well I thought I'd let everyone know the journey I've had.
Now my other router the xr500 runs like a champ with openwrt, no issues at all.
If and when they get the radio ironed out, I will again toss it on my router. I'm definitely getting a Flint 3 when they are up for pre-order.
Love openwrt, love the package management.
