Wifi 2/3 slower since installing Debian Stretch

I have two identical-hardware notebook computers. On one of the notebooks I have Debian Jessie installed (which gets 150Mbps down on wifi).

On the second notebook I have Debian Stretch installed (which gets 50Mbps down on wifi).

I'm testing each notebook from the save access point (both notebooks are the same computer with exact same hardware). Did Debian Stretch wifi really take that big of a hit? What is going on? Anybody come across this before, any way to fix this?

Which LEDE/OpenWrt version are you talking about?

I am using LEDE 17.01.4.

I realize the problem may lie in the desktop OS but I was hoping maybe someone had experience with this sort of thing, something they could share.
